God and the Super Bowl

Just a quick post to mention all the encouraging news surrounding this weekend’s Super Bowl XLI:

There’s been a lot of press about this being the first time that African American head coaches made it to the Super Bowl. What you might not hear as much about is that Dungy and Smith are also good friends and outspoken Christians. Here’s an encouraging, quick read from the Baptist Press about how they worked together with Campus Crusade for Christ on an evangelistic advertisement.

Here’s another story about the men and their faith.

Campus Crusade for Christ’s ministry to athletes, Athletes in Action, hosts the “Super Bowl Breakfast” each year on the Saturday before the game. The NFL-sanctioned event “features Hall of Fame football players and coaches who explain how Jesus Christ changed their life and influenced their careers”. AIA also has a good article about the coaches.

Let’s pray that their testimony glorifies God and is heard far and wide!
